This week we are talking about two things
- How to stop overthinking
- How to use the journal for productivity with long-term thinking.
How to stop overthinking
We often think and consider ourselves over-thinkers.
First, you have to know the difference between thinking and overthinking.
- Thinking leads to action and overthinking leads to nothing or stress.
- Thinking is short-term, and overthinking is long-term.
- Thinking is structured, and overthinking is going with the flow.
Solution
- How quickly I can take action on whatever you are thinking or overthinking? This question leads to a quick swift mindset that leads to strategic thinking.
- If you are overthinking something for a very long time. Take action that will lead you to failure and help you to take better action. Failing and trying again in a week is better than overthinking and not doing it for years.
- Ask the question “how that can be done?” this question brings a closer view to your task and whatever you are trying to achieve.
Journal for productivity
The reason you should do journaling is, it clears your mind and helps you to focus on the present moment. You make an active decision and less worry about what to come next.
It doesn’t matter whether you use a traditional or digital app for journaling.
The format is very simple:
- First, write down 3 tasks you want to do.
- Then write why you want to do these tasks.
- Then write how will you fill if you complete each task.
- In last add how this will affect your areas of life if you complete these tasks.
This technique helps help you to choose the task that leads you to long-term thinking. also, you will choose the task that matters the most to you rather than doing it for other people.
Bonus –
- Whenever you are going and performing at big events, write about how you are feeling. this will help you to calm down.
- Write after a negative experience. While you are doing this you will write all your frustration, anger, and sadness on paper. That’s a release of some kind and helps you to recover early.
- Before you go to bed. Write about one good thing that happened in your life. Some kind of gratitude. This will help you to sleep better.
Until next week,
