How to stay fit at 67

Last Saturday morning I was traveling by public transport. I show this old man standing so I offered him a seat. He denied it with a smile. He said I am from a sports background and I am okay with standing.

His name was Kaushikbhai Parikh. He was vice chairman of the Gujarat Cricket Association. In a few minutes, I offered a seat to another old man. And then I and Kaushikbhai started talking. Nowadays he works in a bank and also tells jokes on a local TV show. With all the chit-chat of about half an hour, I got some tips for longevity and healthy life.

He is healthy
  • He is 67 years old and physically well.
  • He still has all the teeth in his mouth in healthy condition.
  • He doesn’t have any numbers in his eyes.
  • He rarely takes medicines.
He gave a few simple reasons for this health
  • He said he had not eaten any fast food for the last 17 years.
  • He wakes up early and sleeps on time.
  • He is still active with his light physical activities like regular walking and using stairs.
